On special days a blacksmith would also be operating. It gives information about the house, the original owner and builder George Evans and his wife Anne Evans. It also tells of the arrival of George Evans on board the 'Enterprise' in 1835. Emu Bottom has had several owners since the Evan's family owned the property and was at one stage known as Holly Green before reverting back to its original name. Emu Bottom at present is a commercial venue for hire.A cream and brown small printed booklet showing a early photo of Emu Bottom with men and horses attending to the property on the front and back cover. It has 16 pages including the covers. He married Anne, who ...George and Anne Evans settled in Sunbury in 1836 after migrating to Van Diemens Land from Plymouth in 1825. He took upland along the Jacksons Creek and built his Emu Bottom Homestead. He married Anne, who was forty years younger than him on 11 May 1843 and they had six children. He and his wife Anne are buried in Melbourne General Cemetery in Compartment 'H'.George died on 26 August 1876 and Anne died on 12 January 1893. George Evans was a one of the first Europeans to take up land in the the area that was originally known as Buttlejork ( Batterjork) in the area now known as Sunbury. The Photo Album was created by Hans Beck, who interned with the donor's father (Wilhelm Eckels). The Photo Album depicts wool buying and sheep station related life between 1927-1939. Each photograph has been individually labelled.Straw coloured booklet with gold cursive writing on front cover spelling 'Photo Album'. Inside are 18 pages containing 63 photographs, each individually captioned. When this photo was taken "Holly Green" as it was called then was owned by the Webb family. It was originally called "Emu Bottom" when the Evans family owned the property and re-named "Emu Bottom" when Hedly Elliot acquired it in the 1960s.A mounted black and white photograph of "Holly Green". There is a picket fence with a stone wall entrance on either side of a cyclone gate in the foreground. The fountain is on the LHS and a flowerbed on the RHS. The homestead is beyond the lawn. The statue was originally ...The statue is a bust of George Evans who settled in Sunbury along the Jacksons Creek and built a homestead which he named 'Emu Bottom'. The statue was originally erected on the site in 1986 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of European settlement in the area. A time capsule was buried at the base of the statue and was lifted and opened in 2011 when the 175th anniversary was celebrated. After that event a second capsule was buried along with the original one.A coloured photograph of a statue of the bust of a bearded man set in a brick paved block in a garden.
